Mr. Eric Wels
In fifth and sixth grade band classes, we explore the world of instrumental music in the context of playing in a concert band. We learn how to play our instruments, play music together as an ensemble, and we also work to create music of our own, using our instruments and skills we gain in class.
Mr. Wells is in his 9th year of teaching. Prior to teaching beginning and intermediate band in Gilbert, he taught beginning and intermediate band as well as general music in Tempe. Additionally, Mr. Wells has been an assistant for high school marching, concert, and jazz bands. Mr. Wells also teaches private lessons for trombone and other low brass instruments in the East valley.
Mr. Wells earned his Bachelors in Music Education from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Currently, he is earning his Masters in Music Education from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Mr. Wells maintains interests in enhancing music education with technology and promoting creativity within the music classroom.
Mr. Wells lives in Gilbert, Arizona, with his wife and pets. He is an active member of the Scottish and Celtic communities of Arizona, and can be found at times wearing his kilt!
